On loan from its permanent home at The National Archives, London, The Domesday Book will be on display in the David P J Ross Magna Carta Vault at Lincoln Castle until 3rd September 2017.
Domesday is an icon of English history, giving a fascinating insight into life over 900 years ago. Commissioned in 1086 by William the Conqueror, it gave the king a picture of his realm by recording the taxable value and resources of all the boroughs and manors in the land.
For details of how to see this unique document, displayed alongside the Lincoln 1215 Magna Carta and the 1217 Charter of the Forest, see https://www.lincolncastle.com/domesday.
